Sweet baby projects!

It has been a great summer. I have so many projects in my brain but just not always getting them done! I have however tackled 3 recently:

I made this for my friend Sarah who is a photographer. After trying patterns online, I finally gave in and did my own thing! I cannot wait to see the first baby photo with it!

This was the second for my niece's new baby boy! Unfortunately it was too hot to get a photo of hims snuggled in it!

Lastly no crochet project but I am trying to be a reformed almost non hoarder! I cleaned out my dreamers closet and room.  After two trips to Goodwill, one trip to my church to donate things for a rummage sale and two large garbage cans, it is done! Now to keep it that way!
Just out of curiosity..... How many of you find clothes that you bought years ago with tags still on it? I am hoping that I m not the only one who does this! But no more! I a vowing that nothing be bought unless it is NEEDED and WILL be worn!

Have a blessed day!

Prayer pillow

For years, I have wanted to do something with the old T-shirts that are around the house. Some of which have been left by my children. I have thought that it would be fun to make a T-shirt quilt out of some of the religious themed T-shirts from my daughter. But when I looked through the leftovers there were not a lot of shirts left in her drawers with a religious theme. I am reading a new book called the four signs of a dynamic Catholic and one of the signs is prior. So I came up with an idea to make a prayer pillow.

I was so excited with how well it turned out. Then I turned the pillow over and realized that I forgot to take into account the iron on transfer on the opposite side of the fabric. So I opted the crochet a few hearts to stitch onto the back of the pillow. Then I realized how much it looks like a face. My friend Rick opted to model the pillow for you!

There is your funny for the day!
Have a great day!

More crafts for travels!

I saw the leftover fabric and I had extra time. So what to make? I have always wanted a curling iron cover. So I took my curling iron down to my sewing area and measured it up. I wondered what what going to work better etc and finally made a decision.
Then I had a little more leftover so I took my cellphone and measured the fabric up and made a little pouch for it to take when I don't want to carry a large purse. So here they area:

And this is all the fabric I had left:

So now I am truly ready for a little trip!

Travels for crafts and crafts for travels

When we travel, I crochet to not worry about my significant others's race car skills. So I have finished some slippers to donate. And I have a baby blanket in progress and a mermaid tail for a photo prop. But I will be traveling more so this took precedence:

Now I am all ready to go! Vera Bradley has nothing on my .... Except maybe neater stitchery!
Happy June 24!

Hearts for a pretty newborn!

I have been dabbling with crochet since the big blanket project. Which by the way some of the cranberry came out with using shout color catchers. I finally sent it to my son (he flew in for graduation) so hoping he likes it.

I made this for my God daughter's newborn baby girl! Yet to be blocked but it turned out fairly well. As I say with a lot of my work, you can only tell it is homemade if there are tiny errors!
Now on to my new projects!
What is in your crochet basket this summer?
Happy crocheting!
Norma

I had to add this photo. Somewhere in there is my son! Yes, he did like it!

Happy graduation!

The story behind the log cabin......
About 20 years ago I started a blanket for my son Adam. I never finished it. It was a train blanket of almost 800 granny squares. When it came to to figure out what to give him, I thought about finishing the train blanket. But I decided to do a grown up pattern and made this for his master's degree graduation!

You can barely see the cranberry faded into the whit. I am going to try to wash with a color catcher before shipping it to him! He had to fly in for his grad ceremony so this bout me more time!  I hope it catches the cranberry!

It is done!

I get a little jealous sometimes when I see how fast some whip out projects! Not me! I take time! I have to admit though I am so proud of this. I only wish that the camera could capture it better!
It will be given this weekend and I cannot wait.  I will have to share the story after I give it away!

Don't you just love the pink ranger on the floor!!
